John Kimball John Kimball, son of Benjamin Kimball and Ruth Ames, was born in Canterbury, NH on April 13, 1821. He died June 1, 1913 in Concord, NH. When Benjamin (Sr) died, John was thirteen, which left John behind with a 9 year old sister (Elizabeth) and a brother (Benjamin) less than a year old. He married first to Maria H. the daughter of Elam Phillips, of Rupert, VT on May 21, 1846. She died on December 22, 1894. He married second to Charlotte, daughter of Daniel Clark and Mahala (Tilton) Atkinson of Boscawen. She was born December 29, 1837 and died June 25, 1928 in Concord, NH. They were married October 15, 1895. He attended local Boscawen, NH schools, then in 1837 he went to Concord academy for one year. In 1838 he was apprenticed as a machinist to William Moody Kimball, his father's cousin, then engaged in constructing mills and machinery at Boscawen. In 1842, his first job was to rebuild the Grist Mill near Boscawen Plain. Thereafter he continued doing this in Suncook, Manchester, Lowell, and Lawrence. In 1848, he was employed by the Concord Railroad to take charge of the new machine and car shops being built in Concord. He was appointed Master Mechanic of the RR in 1850, and stayed there for eight years. In 1856, he was elected to the common council. Child: Clara Maria, b. March 20, 1848 in Lawrence, MA and died on June 14, 1933 in Concord. She married Augustine Roger Ayers, the son of Jonathan and Lucy (Johnon) Ayers on June 4, 1873. He was born in Canterbury, NH on September 28, 1839 and died on January 29, 1917. Children:
